Launch teardown: Orfeo Ayuda
Unsolicited teardown, not an endorsement. Ship Plainly wrote this from public pages only. The maker hasn't asked for, seen, or approved it, and isn't affiliated with us. Quotes are verbatim as read on the dates below; English in parentheses is our translation.
Launch, as the pages show it (read Wed Oct 21, 2026, ~9:40 AM CDT)
- Launched on Product Hunt Tue Oct 20, 2026 (PH lists it as scheduled for 12:01 AM PT that day): https://www.producthunt.com/products/orfeo-ayuda
- PH tagline: "Remote assistance so your kids can help you use your phone"
- What the PH page showed on Oct 21: "Launched this week", 1 point and 2 followers. Nothing else is claimed here.
- Maker on X, Oct 20, 6:41 AM CDT: "Orfeo Ayuda is live on Product Hunt today 🚀" (https://x.com/orfeovirtual/status/2112509388707832282)
Sources
- Site (read Oct 17 and re-read Oct 21): https://ayuda.orfeovirtual.com. The text is unchanged, word for word. The page is still Spanish only (
lang="es"), and https://ayuda.orfeovirtual.com/en returns 404. - PH page (read Oct 17 and Oct 21): https://www.producthunt.com/products/orfeo-ayuda. One small change: the description no longer mentions "voice" alongside on-screen pointers.
- Maker's posts on X (@orfeovirtual, re-read Oct 21):

What it is, from the public pages: an Android app plus a desktop web app. A parent opens the app and taps "Pedir ayuda" (ask for help); the helper connects from a computer, sees the phone screen, and clicks where to tap, which shows a circle on the parent's screen. The helper can't tap for them.
What's working
- A headline with real rhythm: "Ves su pantalla. Ellos tocan. Tú señalas." (You see their screen. They tap. You point.)
- Consent built in and said plainly: "Ellos aceptan cada sesión." (They accept every session.) And: "No guardamos el vídeo." (We don't save the video.)
- New since Oct 17: the launch post on X leads with the trust line. "Not parental control, not remote desktop." That's exactly the worry this product has to answer first, said in English, in the launch post (Oct 20).
- New since Oct 17: a helper-first story on X. The Oct 21 post opens with "Mom calls again: "I can't find my email" 📱", which speaks to the adult child who will actually install it.
What we'd change next
1. Add an English page
The PH tagline and the X posts are in English, but the site is still Spanish only (re-checked Oct 21; no /en page). Most English-speaking visitors from PH or X will bounce.
- Fix: an English version of the homepage, linked from the PH listing. Even one page is enough to start.
2. Move "No es un escritorio remoto" (it's not remote desktop) to the top
It still sits below the three steps. It answers the first worry anyone has about screen sharing with a parent, and the X launch post already leads with it in English.
- Fix: put it, with "Ellos aceptan cada sesión.", right under the headline.
3. Pick one reader
The site talks to the helper ("Cuando tus padres no encuentran un ajuste…", when your parents can't find a setting). Product Hunt talks to the parent: "Remote assistance so your kids can help you use your phone", and "Built for parents and grandparents who get stuck on their phone". The adult child probably installs it, and the newest X post already speaks to them.
- Suggested rewrite (PH tagline, 55 chars): "Help your parents with their phone, without taking over"
